Aizawl, Sept 3: AYUSH OPD has been set up now in all the 8 Mizoram Districts. This was highlighted on the first day of the 2-day Review Meeting on AYUSH Programme & Clinical Orientation for Medical Officers (AYUSH) that began today here at Aizawl Civil Hospital Conference Hall. Among the other highlights on the progress of AYUSH programme in the state, mention was made that AYUSH treatment has also been made available in 7 Community Health Centres.
The Review Meeting also learnt that 50-bedsed AYUSH Hospital is being constructed in Thenzawl; 80% of the work completed now.
Speaking at the Review Meeting, Dr. K.Ropari, Principal Director H&FW said that AYUSH was set up in Mizoram as Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H) in 2001 under Mizoram Health Department.
Later changed to AYUSH in 2003, it now functions with Director under the guidance of Principal Director H&FW, she said.
As of now, there are 11 permanent AYUSH Doctors in Mizoram; 21 working on Contract under RCH and NHM; and 23 under School Health.
Specially invited Resource Persons instructed the gathering Medical Officers on Office Procedure, Administration & Etiquette, Record Keeping & Reports. Workshop on Reduction of Infant Death will be held on the concluding day of the Review Meeting tomorrow.
