Aizawl, Aug 26: Mizoram is moving ahead with its firm determination to make progress in Football in order to make its football loving youth find their niches in this particular sports discipline even at the international level.
Sports Minister Zodintluanga today inaugurated Non Residential Football Coaching at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui.
The Non Residential Football Coaching is being launched by Sports & Youth Services Department for the youth who are above 14 years.
Inaugurating the Non Residential Football Coaching, Sports Minister said that the youth needs proper guidance so that they go to the right path and lauded Sports & Youth Services Department for its good initiative in this regard which, he added, is not colliding with their formal education.
They will be trained for professionals, the Minister said.
MFA President Lal Thanzara on his part said that Mizoram is making great progress in Football under its dynamic Sports Minister.
He also said that Football is not just a game but worth a profession, adding, the Mizo footballers are heading this way and have already started using it as a source of livelihood for their family. Due to the progress we are making in Football, AIFF and FIFA also have known Mizoram now, Lal Thanzara said and mentioned that the latter will conduct training here as per necessity.
MSSC Secretary C.Laltlanthanga and other members were also there at the Non Residential Football Coaching Inauguration today which was presided over by Zothanmawia, Director, Sports & Youth Services. Around 80 youth will take part in the Non Residential Football Coaching which is for about 4 months and be held in the evening, after school.
