Aizawl, Aug 25: As of every year, Mizoram looks forward to celebrating one of its most popular and biggest festivals Anthurium Festival with pomp and gaiety. Preparation for the same has begun today.
A meeting was held today under the guidance of Tourism Minister John Rotluangliana at his office which scheduled 1st October, 2015 – 3rd October, 2015 for celebration of Anthurium Festival 2015. For the venue of the festival, the meeting selected Lengpui Mini Sports Complex instead of Reiek Tourist Resort, the venue in other previous years. This is because of the increasing trend in the number of people thronging the festival year after year.
The meeting set up State Level Anthurium Organising Committee which is said to hold its first meeting on 2nd September, 2015.
The State Tourism Minister John Rotluangliana recalled the celebration of Anthurium Festival in the previous years and said that the programme for the Anthurium Festival 2015 be chalked out so as to make it a great and joyful time for the people.
Anthurium Festival is held every year with pomp and gaiety under the aegis of Tourism Department.

It mentioned that 4 Tourist Lodges- one at Buhchang in Kolasib District, two at Khanpui and Sakawrdaiin Aizawl District and another one at Paithar in Lawngtlai District have been privatized now. Tourist Lodges in different towns namely Vairengte, Zonuam, Hmuifang, Chhiahtlang, Thenzawl, Bairabi, Thingdawl, Saipum, Saitual and Sairang are also to be privatized for which process in on to float tender, the meeting said.
