Aizawl, Aug 24 : The main opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) president Zoramthanga on Monday hit out at the ruling Congress saying severe embarrassment and disgrace to the party has now begun as it has been humiliated and disgraced for several reasons on several occasions.
Addressing a political session at Mizo Hnam Run, Zoramthanga on Monday said that his party has strong faith in its youth wing president K. Vanlalvena’s confession that he had been offered Rs 2 lakhs by MPCC President Lal Thanhawla on the eve of assembly election in 2013 asking him to extend help secretly.
Lal Thanhawla had however, denied the alleged ‘offer’ and said it was baseless and false. Reacting to CM Lal Thanhawla’s denial, Zorama said that they have strong faith in the youth wing president. “Although Lal Thanhawla denied that he had offered Rs 2 lakhs to MNYF president K.Vanlalvena before the assembly election as claimed by the latter, we believed that the president spoke the truth and Congress would soon launch attack on others as well so as to make them not believe what K.Vanlalvena had said”, Zorama said. Zorama said that Congress has just started facing disgrace and humiliation. “The ruling party has started facing embarrassment and humiliation for several reasons and the process of severe embarrassment and disgrace to Congress is going to begin from now”, he added.
A political session of MNF was held on Monday at Mizo Hnam Run which was attended by a host of party workers.
Former MLA and MNF PAC member, Lalthlengliana who spoke at the political session said that God gave the people of Mizoram, a bad government to make them fully conscious and enlightened.
“Lal Thanhawla no doubt is appointed by God. But if we look at the Bible, we see many kings despite being appointed by God, worshiping idol and doing evils”, Lal Thlengliana said, adding that some time God give us a bad rulers to make us transformed ourselves. Citing about the resignation of former Health Minister Lal Thanzara, Lalthlengliana said the decision might have been taken only after prolonged discussion between the two brothers. According to him both the Chief Minister and his brother had carefully discussed over the issue and finally Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla let his brother Lal Thanzara tendered his resignation as the issue was very serious.
He added that the appeal that ‘a minister should be resigned’ has been one of the important chants of opposition MNF since long. But Lal Thanzara had never been affected by such appeal and demand. “He resigned from the cabinet as well as legislator as it was a serious matter”, he said.
