Aizawl, Sept 6: Good news for the unemployed youth in the state, New Delhi based Skill Development Council officials, who visited Mizoram, said they will set up 2 Training Centres in Mizoram. They also said that they will help find ways by which CYMA and MYC may be made Vocational Training Providers (VTP), thereby the need to hire VTP from outside the state may not be necessary.
The visiting SDC officials advised CYMA and MYC to choose the best for the Mizo youth from the available 37 different Skill Training Sectors.
CYMA officials on their part expressed their wish that such training may be given to the homesick Mizo youth which may be useful for securing job within their home state.
They, however, expressed their belief that such attitude may later subside when most of the youth learn Hindi. The Mizo youth needs Soft skill training, CYMA officials said.
The visiting officials of Security Sector, Skill Development Council Officials said that they believe Handicraft, Hospitality, Health Care, automobile, Construction and Capital goods, garment design and apparel making, logistics, sports, security, electronics and electrical to be profitable for the Mizo youth.
They said that, besides Certification and Assessing, they are even ready to provide trainers. They also informed CYMA and MYC that the holders of the lowest level Certificate that they award, which is Entry Level- Level 4 are eligible for employment in any part of India and that their salary would be 75% more than those without certificate.
Assuring to help find ways by which CYMA and MYC be made VTP, they said that with this hiring of VTP from outside the state would not be necessary and, besides this, CYMA and MYC may earn the profit of giving the training, they added.
The 3 officials of Security Sector, Skill Development Council, New Delhi, Maj. Gen. Kuldip Singh, Security Sector, Brig. P.K.Sanyal, Regional Head(East) and Col. U.S. Rathore, Principal, S&QA also held interaction with Mizoram Governor Lt.Gen (Rtd.) Nirbhay Sharma at Raj Bhavan on Friday evening.
Their main purpose of visit was to suggest ways of employment through training to the many Mizo youth who could not pursue higher study due to various reasons and to make plan for the training, they told the Governor.
They especially are looking out for the availability of youth like to undergo training for Security, which is the need of all Companies, they added.
The Governor, telling that many of the unemployed Mizo youth are educated, suggested the officials of Skill Development Council to find ways by which both the educated and uneducated may get skill development training even beyond security skill training. He also advised to collaborate with Mizoram Youth Commission and CYMA saying that the two have been making effort for the unemployed youth in the state.
