Aizawl, Nov 1: In a tragic incident, former Mizo Idol winner and well known singer Biakmuana died in bike accident last Saturday. Biakmuana won the second position in Mizo Idol contest organized by Zonet in 2011.
Family sources said that the accident occurred when the singer along with his friends were taking part in bike race after they witnessed Moto-X Challenge (bike and car) racing competition organized by Mizoram Motosports Associations (MiMSA) at Tuirial Airfield last Saturday. Soon after, he was brought to Greenwood Hospital in Aizawl where doctor declared him dead. He was 31 and survived by wife and children.
Biakmuana won the hearts of Mizo music lovers with his melodious voice when he made his appearance in 2011 Mizo Idol contest. He won the second position in the contest failing to beat a young and talented singer from Saiha Lalthuthaa who bagged the winner.
The dead body of Biakmuana who was the permanent resident of Chhiahtlang in Mizoram’s Serchhhip district was taken to his rented house at Tuikual after performing necessary formalities and was buried on Sunday.
In another accident, a 19 year old teenager was killed in road accident at the outskirt of Aizawl city.
Police said that Lalhnithanga of Zemabawk locality died in tragic accident when he fell down from a fully loaded truck plying between Beraw river and LAD’s dumbing ground at the outskirt of Aizawl city. The incident occurred around 2 pm on Saturday. The teenager who was boarding a fully loaded LPK truck while return to Aizawl after watching Moto-X Challenge competition at Tuirial Airfield accidentally fell down from the truck and died on the spot, police said.
