Aizawl, Oct 18: 23rd State Level Children Science Congress was held during October 15-16, 2015 at Chaltlang YMA Hall here in the state capital Aizawl. Parliamentary Secretary for Education Joseph Lalhimpuia graced the closing function held yesterday afternoon.
Addressing the children gathering on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary for Education said that to become a Scientist one need to have courage, good discipline, and remain free from intoxicants.
Athletes, Singers works hard and become a high income professional. Scientists also do in the same way, Joseph Lalhimpuia said exhorting the children to also work hard.
Joseph Lalhimpuia also urged the children to not simply imitate what people in other parts of the world are doing, but rather explore what can be done here in Mizoram.
Of the steps taken by Mizoram government for progress in education, Joseph Lalhimpuia made mention of the plan to set up Education centres in Aizawl and Lunglei and Recruitment of Science and Mathematics teachers.
With the initiative of RMSA, Cheraw Dance Competition will be organised under Kala Utsav in collaboration with Bamboo Development Agency (BDA), Industry Deptt., he added.
Students from each District attended the State Level Children Science Congress organised by Science Teachers Association of Mizoram (STAM). RMSA had organised Science Congress in each District as a result of which good number of students attended the Children Science Congress of this year, STAM leaders said.
8 students were selected from the State Level Children Science Congress to represent Mizoram at National Children Science Congress 2015 to be held during December 27-31, 2015 in Chandigarh.
2 students were also selected for Indian Science Congress to be held in the first week of January 2016 in Mysore.
