Aizawl, Jan 19: 43 persons were sent to court following surprise Inner Line Permit (ILP) Checking carried out on 16th January last by the teams of Police Stations here in Aizawl city. The detained ILP violators were sent to court the same day, the press statement of Police today said. ILP Checking is done at regular intervals in Aizawl city, the Police statement said.
As per the decision of the Court, 1 person was released while 3 persons were sent to jail, 16 persons given time to complete the process of obtaining the permit, and the rest 23 sent back home by the Police Department the same day.
The 23 persons without ILP were escorted upto Mizoram- Assam boundary by the Police. The Police release in the day did not mention the home town of the ILP violators.
Alert on presence of fraudsters: The State Police Department in its release has alerted the people of the presence of fraudsters these days who claim themselves Bank personnel in order to rob the people.
The Police said that such fraudsters use Mobile phone registered in Bihar State and they ask people their ATM Card number instead of PIN number. After they get ATM Card number, they ask the One Time Password (OTP) sent SMS using which they take out money from the victim’s account.
The Police therefore asked the people to be careful and reminded that Banks never ask ATM Card number, PIN or password.
