Aizawl, Oct 4: Anthurium Festival 2015 held successfully during the last 3 days came to a close today. Large number of people including visitors from outside Mizoram thronged Lengpui Mini Sports Complex where festival was organised by the State Tourism Department. Tourism Minister John Rotluangliana expressed gladness over the success of Anthurium Festival 2015 and said that since the festival was for everyone, all those who enjoyed it were the ones who owned it and were privileged.
Over the shift of the venue from Reiek to Lengpui, he said that it was because of better road condition and increase in the number of visitors.
As in other years, great variety of programmes including cultural dances, show of traditional attires, both popular and folk music were organised throughout the festival.
Popular bands in Mizoram also entertained the visitors in the concerts every evening throughout the festival.
Also during the festival, different stalls were set up from buy gabapentin in uk where the visitors could buy Anthurium flowers and others, Mizo products including clothes and tools.
Good number of visitors from outside Mizoram added to the large number of local visitors. During the celebration of Bamboo Day along with Anthurium Festival, Mizoram Bamboo Day Committee, Environment & Forests organised Cheraw Dance competition for Cultural Clubs in which Zofa Cultural Club, Chanmari West bagged the first prize carrying Rs.50, 000. Vaivakawn Cultural Club came second and went home richer with Rs.30, 000 while the third Armed Veng Cultural Club got Rs.20, 000.
Anthurium Festival is held every year under the aegis of Tourism Department using the fund provided by the Central Government to each State government with an aim to boost tourism industry.
Among others, Environment & Forests Minister Lalrinmawia Ralte, Deputy Speaker R.Lalrinawma, Parliamentary Secretary TT Zothansanga and Lt.Col.Z.S.Zuala were also seen on the final day of the festival.
