Aizawl, Feb 1: Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla graced the closing day of Madhya Kerala Diocese Annual Convention under Church of South India (CSI) yesterday at Kottayam, Kerala. The convention began on January 24, 2016.
Chief Minister Hawla graced the same as invited by the leaders of Church of South India (CSI). He preached a sermon before the congregation.
Madhya Kerala Diocese under Church of South India was established on 27th Sept. 1947. It was formerly known as Anglican Dioceses of Travancore & Cochin and is one of the 24 Dioceses under CSI. It now has about 2, 75,000 members in India alone with 111 pastorates 111 and 11 district councils. It also run schools and colleges.
Rt. Rev Thomas K.Oommen is the present Dy Moderator of CSI & Bishop of the Diocese.
Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrisnan were also mong the attendants of the convention.
Chief Minister was programmed to leave for New Delhi today to pursue works relating to the needs of Mizoram.
