Aizawl, March 8: Sponsored by Information & Public Relations Department and Mizoram Art Development Society (MADS) the 3rd Amoii Painting Solo Exhibition which will last 5 days here at Art Novelty Gallery, Chaltlang Venglai was today inaugurated by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla.
Inaugurating the Painting Exhibition, Chief Minister said that those nations that values and promotes artworks like painting are great nations and added that the Mizos too are not below others in the same field provided their talents are explored and with strong will. Chief Minister highly appreciated Amoii for her painting solo exhibition and expressed his wishes that more of the Mizo youth may enter the same field.
Saying the Mizos don’t lag behind others, CM Hawla mentioned in his speech that painting exhibition has been held by the Mizos with the initiative of the government in Delhi and Kolkata. Only that it cannot be promoted as wished due to financial problem, he said.
Appreciating the Mizo artists, Chief Minister said that their works that exposes the Mizos and Mizoram are bought by the government and the same presented to visitors of Mizoram.
The government has been doing its best to explore the talent of the youth in the State, he added.
Chief Minister on the occasion today gave Rs.3 lakhs Mizoram Art Development Society (MADS) and Rs.1 lakh to Amoii.
Also on the occasion today, I&PR Director Jim K.Chozah handed over the citation awarded to 3 Mizo senior artists Tlangrokhuma, R.Thansanga and Rosiamliana Ralte by MADS.
Amoii (LALHMINGMAWII) has organised solo exhibition in 2000 and 2006 and bagged accolade on 4 occasions. She had participated in exhibition 15 times at different places in India and also had attended Art workshop and seminar 10 times in different places.
