Aizawl, Oct 28: Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on Wednesday came heavily on Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) slamming Modi led central government as ill-treating and oppressing the religious minorities by mulling over imposition of beef ban in the country.
Addressing state level convention of the Mizoram Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) on Wednesday, Lal Thanhawla alleged that the BJP led central government has created disturbance in the entire country especially among the Christian and Muslim minorities by banning beef. “The recent intervention of centrally sponsored Delhi police in Kerala over beef eating has greatly embarrassed the BJP”, he added.
He said that the BJP government since its initial government has been oppressing and ill behaved against the Christian minorities by vandalizing churches in several places in the country.
Slamming the BJP leaders for their offensive remarks against Christians and Muslims over beef eating, Lal Thanhawla said the National party has mulled over banning beef to oppress the religious minorities.
Taking a jibe at state BJP, he said it was formed or joined by the desperate leaders and workers. “They (BJP members) were just a group assembled in distress”, he added. Citing about the resigned former minister of state Lal Thanhzara, MPCC president Lal Thanhawla said that the former resigned for he wished to be probed freely as he wanted the truth.
“”I don’t know how long the MNF will rain huge attack on him and I appreciated that they continue with launching attack on the former minister. But the fact that the MNF has stop talking about the allegation of share in company revealed that he was innocent. If the opposition knew that he was wrong and guilty why did not they make him to be incapable of Congress candidate for the upcoming bye-election”, Lal Thanhawla questioned, adding the bye-election result will decide how far Congress was true in its stand.
La Thanhawla said every citizen should have honesty and originality. “Being a worshiper of the living God every party workers should be righteous and have originality”, he urged.
The Chief Minister further said that Mizoram has been walking on the path of speedy development. He added that the per capita income and gross domestic product of Mizoram have significantly increased boosting the state’s economy growth rate.
State level MPYCC convention was held Wednesday at Lal Thanhawla Auditorium with Congress youths from across the state attending the convention in large number. Besides Chief Minsiter Lal Thanhawla who graced the convention as chief guest many Congress top leaders attended the convention.
