Aizawl, Nov 6: In what may termed as political development for the ruling Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPC) at least 26 members including ex- MLA candidate and BJP president, Aizawl District Biakmawia have joined the party, Congress vice president and Home Minister R. Lalzirliana today said.
The new members comprised of 22 BJP party workers and 4 MNF workers were today inducted by Lalzirliana during a party session held at Congress Bhavan.
Hitting out at opposition parties, Lalzirliana said they started raining attack on Congress even when political campaign for bypoll to Aizawl North III assembly seat is yet to begin as they have become too desperate. “In spite of being too excited though in the initial stage, I scare the opposition would become desperately speech less in the end”, he said.
Exulting at the new induction, the vice president said that it is a matter of great pleasure and gratitude that 22 members of BJP, the national party that presently ruled the country joined Congress today. He asked the new inducted members to sit in Congress like a true owner.
Reacting to MNF legal board, Former Health Minister and Congress candidate for Aizawl North- III by-polls Lal Thanzara while addressing a session said that the opposition party was indicating of their lost in the coming by-election when it said it would continue to take up the graft case even he (Lal Thanzara) is re-elected in the by-polls.
Chaired by former legislator and MPCC General Secretary K.T.Rokhaw, the political session was also addressed by the lone Rajya Sabha member from Mizoram Ronald Sapa Tlau.
