Aizawl, Dec 7: The leaders of central committee of the Young Mizo Association led by its assistant secretary R. Lalngheta and Finance Secretary Lalrochuanga Pachuau today left for Myanmar to hand over relief aids to the flood victims of Zo communities in Myanmar.
The team which comprised nine members will hand over Rs 74,65,000 to 418 families of Zo communities living in neighbouring Chin state of Myanmar who had been ravaged by blood in August last. The relief aids would be distributed to 78 Families in Teddim , 54 families in Tuikhin North, 26 families Tuikhin Mizo, 19 families in Mandalay, 129 families in Kanan and 112 families in Falam.
Earlier CYMA and various NGOs including Zofa Global Network (ZGN) have also sent the consignment of relief aids to flood affected Zo communities in Myanmar. The release aids were collected through fund donated by civil bodies and the people of Mizoram.
The largest civil body in the state is also planning to extend relief aids for the second phase to Zo communities of Halkha area and Khampat Bungpui area in Myanmar after complete report of the victims has been intimidated to the association.
