Aizawl, Feb 14: A school girl from Mizoram has been selected for a 10-member expedition team to scale the Mount Everest to be organised by the National Cadets Corps in May this year. Lalrintluangi, (20) a Class 12 student in Govt KM Higher Secondary School in Aizawl, is the only member from the Northeast states in the Mt Everest team and is also the first woman from Mizoram to scale the world’s highest peak.
Speaking to reporters here on last Saturday, Lalrintluangi said she was excited for the expedition and determined to reach the summit.
She said that she had undergone many hardships to be selected among the expedition team.
Born to Lalbiaknipuia and B. Zirthangi, the 20 year old Lalrintluangi can i buy gabapentin online have climbed have climbed Mount Deo Tibba (19,688 ft) in Himachal Pradesh and Mount Trishul (23,353ft) in Uttarakhand during her pre-trekking. She would be among 10 members to participate in the expedition. The other team members are from Darjeeling (West Bengal), Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh (J&K). She said she would keep Mizo Bible and hoisted MZP and YMA flags on reaching the summit.
Lalrintluangi would leave for Delhi for one month pre-training before the final adventure. During a press meet, she was accompanied by David Zohmangaiha, the first man from Mizoram to reach the peak of Mt. Everest and other officials of Mizoram Climbing Association.
