Aizawl, Dec 20: The new scheme Food Security is expected to be in use from February 2016, FCS&CA Minister and MLA John Rotluangliana said when he visited his constituency- Mamit Constituency during 16-18 December, 2015. The Minister said that the families covered by Food Security shall get 5 kg of rice per individual per month.
Meanwhile, as the provision would not be enough, additional 3 Kg per individual @ Rs 15 shall be given, he added. The Minister also said that those not covered by Food Security shall continue to get the provision of subsidized ration per month. The Minister and MLA visited Tuirum, Khawhnai, Teirei Forest, Damparengpui,Tuipuibari, Rajiv Nagar I, Rajiv Nagar II, Andermanik and Khantlang villages of his constituency.
He said that 60 Megawatt -Tuirial Hydel Project shall be commissioned next year and plan is on to set up Oil Depot and request being made for Blotting Plant.
The Minister, who also holds the portfolio for Transport, said that broad-gauge train would enter Mizoram by March next year, and, as per plan, the same would reach Sairang by 2018.
The rail line would be extended up to Lawngtlai, the Minister added.
During his visit, Minister John Rotluangliana distributed Rs. 25,000/- each to 80 families in Khawhnai, Teirei Forest, Damparengpui, Tuipuibari, Rajiv Nagar I, Rajiv Nagar II as NLUP 2nd phase 4th installment (Final) for WRC II trade. The Minister John Rotluangliana also inaugurated Rajiv Nagar II Community Hall and Damparengpui Comuninity Hall constructed under BADP at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs.
The Minister was accompanied during his visit by Mamit District DC Lalbiaksangi, MCS, Project Director DRDA; EE PHE; EE PWD; DAO; DEO; DPC; SMO Mamit, BDO Zawlnuam, and BDO W.Phaileng.
