Aizawl, Feb 21: Interacting with Air Vice Marshal OP Tiwari, Asst. Chief of Air Staff (Personnel Airmen and Civilians), yesterday evening at Raj Bhavan here, Mizoram Governor Lt Gen. Nirbhay Sharma (Retd) discussed with the former how more of the Mizo youth may join Indian Air Force (IAF). Air Vice Marshal OP Tiwari, Asst. Chief of Air Staff (Personnel Airmen and Civilians) told the Governor that he came to guide and inspect Recruitment Rally in Mizoram as directed by Chief of Air Staff who has given great importance to the request of Mizoram Governor.
The Rally has also been held successfully, he said, adding that Air Force has received good cooperation of Chief Secretary and State officials during the Recruitment Rally.
Governor Lt Gen. Nirbhay Sharma (Retd) on his part thanked IAF for organizing a Rally in Mizoram, expressing his hope that many of the Mizo youth benefit from it.
The Governor said that while the Mizo youth have the potential and quality for any work, they but need the good opportunity and convenient place for it.
Governor expressed his wish before Air Vice Marshal OP Tiwari that IAF may organize more rally for the Mizo youth.
As per IAF release, The Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB), New Delhi and No 11 Airmen Selection Centre, Guwahati jointly organized Air Force Recruitment Rally for the Mizo youth on February 20, 2016 in Aizawl, Aizawl, Mamit, Kolasib, Champai and Serchhip Kolasib districts. Air Vice Marshal OP Tiwari visited the rally.
Further, Recruitment Rally of the same kind is scheduled for February 23, 2016 in Lunglei, Saiha and Lawngtlai District under the guidance of President of CASB, Air Cmde RS Mehdiratta.
