Aizawl, Aug 20: The meeting of Mizoram Journalists Welfare Society Governing Board held under the leadership of its Chairman Rosangpuii, Secretary, I & PR at the latter’s office chamber today has agreed to give Rs 1 lakh contribution each to the departed members as a condolence and sign of sympathy of the loss.
The meeting which was attended by 9 members of the Governing Board including MLA, Chalrosanga Ralte discussed over the various problems placed by members of Journalists Welfare Society before the governing board. The Governing Board meeting unanimously agreed that Rs 1 lakh contribution would be extended to each journalist members who had passed away before, from fund allotted by the government as per the existing rules.
Rosangpuii, the chairperson of Mizoram Journalists Welfare Society Governing Board while speaking at the meeting expressed that she was extremely happy with the friendly environment and transparency existed among the members during their several meetings. She also expressed gladness for the successful conclusion of the last meeting of the governing board.
Jim K. Chozah, Member Secretary & Director, I & PR who present at the meeting also said that the meetings conducted under the leadership of Rosangpuii in which important issues were being discussed under peaceful environment would be memorable for the members.
Extending gratitude to the board members, MJA President Vanlalrema Vantawl lauded and thanked Information & Public Relations for giving concern to journalist. He added that the concern and initiatives taken by Information & Public Relations were indeed immensely valuable for journalist.
