Aizawl, Nov 5: lCFAl University Mizoram held its 4th Convocation at the University Campus in Durtlang North today.
Mizoram Governor Lt. Gen.(Rtd.) Nirbhay Sharma graced the occasion in which 59 students were awarded UG & PG Degrees and also Gold and Silver medals to outstanding students.
Addressing the new graduates, Governor Lt. Gen. Nirbhay Sharma underlined, as in other occasions, the need for the Mizo students to also learn other languages besides English and Mizo.
Hindi, especially, is important within India hence the need to have a good command over it, he said.
Even the Chinese are also learning Hindi, the Governor said.
The Governor also asked the Mizo students to have a cosmopolitan outlook and have an ambition and vision keeping in mind not only Mizoram but even beyond India.
It is an island mindset that often hinders the ways to progress, he added.
Also speaking on the occasion, ICFAI Vice Chancellor, Prof J.P.Ramappa briefed the gathering on the achievements made so far by ICFAI University.
lCFAl University is one of the biggest Private Universities in India and is now spreading over 16 States with 11 lCFAl Universities, 9 ICFAI Business Schools, 7 ICFAI Techs and 5 lCFAl Law Schools.
CFAI University Mizoram at present offers 16 different courses in for Bachelor and Master Degree, and another 8 courses will be added next session, Vice Chancellor, Prof J.P.Ramappa mentioned.
The different courses offered by the university are designed to help the students find jobs after completion. Placement will also be done as far as possible, the VC added.
