Aizawl, Dec 21: In view of Christmas and New Year celebration, Mizoram Journalist Association (MJA) today gave charity to Aizawl Civil Hospital for use of patients undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A team of MJA led by its president Vanlalrema Vantawl donated charity of Rs 50,000 to Aizawl Civil Hospital’s Poor Fund. The charity fund collected from MJA members and other generous individuals to help the patients enjoy the festival joyfully was handed over to Medical Superintendent Dr. Rosangluaia.
Speaking on the occasion, MJA president said that Christmas should be importantly use as a time for helping others and giving gifts to the needy as it is the day God gave his only begotten son to atone the sins of human beings. “In fact, the practical way of interpreting Christmas is helping the needy and dedicating yourself to others which can by shown either by giving alms or performing works,” he said.
While exhorting doctors, nurses and other staff working at Aizawl Civil Hospital, Vantawl also urged that they should work with firm determination and dedication. Aizawl Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Rosangluaia thanked MJA for having donated charity to the hospital.
Charity funds donated by various organisations according to Rosangluaia were used for patients to buy their basic needs.
He said that Aizawl Civil Hospital has been awarded Rs 50 lakh as Kayakalp award for being the one of the cleanest hospitals in the country.
He added the state largest civil hospital in Mizoram was included among two hospitals in the country that have been selected to receive quality award and during March next year the hospital shall be examined by Quality Assurance team with 2000 different tests. The other hospital selected for quality award was a hospital in Sikkim.
Apart from the charity fund donated by MJA, Aizawl Civil Hospital has received charity fund amounting to Rs 1,52,250 and 100 brooms during 2015 according to Dr. Rosangluaia.
