Aizawl, April 3: National Commission for Minority Affairs Member Capt. (Rtd) Praveen Dayar arrived in Aizawl yesterday evening for a two-night stay. Soon after his arrival, Capt. (Rtd) Praveen Dayar held meeting with the state government top officials at State Guest House here, where he lodged. He held discussion with the state government top leaders over the various initiatives through Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme and Multi Sectoral Development Project (MSDP). DC and DC representatives from Aizawl, Mamit and Lawngtlai Districts reported to the visiting National Commission for Minority Affairs Member how they have taken steps for minorities within their respective district. Also, Department representatives also reported on the initiatives across State under MSDP and PM New 15 Point Programme.
The state government officials put up before the visiting NCM member their proposals for better and more meaningful way of carrying the present government programmes for the welfare of the minorities. Capt.(Rtd) Praveen Dayar on his part told the department officials to ask for any possible works under MSDP and PM New 15 Point Programme.
He also assured to take follow up steps at the Centre regarding the proposals they put up before him. Addl.Chief Secretary Arvind Ray chaired the meeting which was attended by representatives of Rural Development, Home, Social Welfare, School Education, Urban Development& Poverty Alleviation, Labour Employment & Industrial Training, District Council Affairs, Mizoram Scholarship Board, NRLM besides DCs of Aizawl, Mamit and Lawngtlai.
