Aizawl, Nov 10: Calling for a change in the perspective and strategy to boost tourism industry in the State, Governor Lt.Gen (Rtd.) Nirbhay Sharma today said that “Foreign tourists who visit Mizoram do not come for luxuriant places to stay like Five Star Hotels. What they want most is to stay in a typical Mizo home where they would live Mizo lifestyle and taste the flavour of the very Mizo ways endowed with cordiality and cleanliness.”
He said this when he visited the under construction Tourist Complex at Thenzawl today.
In order to make the Tourist Complex a tourist hotspot and a blessing for Mizoram, the people of Serchhip District, especially the people of Thenzawl, needs to prepare.
The district now needs to send many of its youth for training in Hospitality and Management, the Governor said.
Governor in the day visited Serchhip town and Thenzawl village and inspected government initiatives there.
The Governor calls on Serchhip District, with its high literacy rate, peace, and convenient location, to be a role model for the other 7 districts in the State in Skill development, Education and Healthcare. He assured to extend all possible help regarding Digital Connectivity in the district. The Governor, as in other occasions, underlined the need on the part of the Mizo youth to be fluent in Hindi for jobs anywhere in the country. Governor also in the day visited JN Hospital and Eklavya Residential Model School, Serchhip, Handloom Exhibition Hub, 50 bedded Ayush Hospital, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (School), Thenzawl.
There are 3 Sub – Divisions, 2 RD Blocks, 3 Legislative Assembly Constituencies, 56 Villages, 1 College, 7 HSS, 36 H/S, 99 M/S, 116 P/S and 1 District Civil Hospital in Serchhip District.
