Aizawl, March 13: Among the Small States in India, Mizoram has been ranked No.1 position in the “Public Affairs Index” on Good Governance, prepared by Public Affairs Centre, Bengaluru. Mizoram outranked Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, which stood in the second and third position respectively.
“Public Affairs Index” on Good Governance has been released on Saturday in Bengaluru by former Chief Justice of India, Justice Venkatachaliah.
Among Large States, Kerala topped the list followed by Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Chief Secretary Lalmalsawma received “Certificate of Excellence” from the hands of Justice Venkatachaliah on behalf of Mizoram Government.
The criteria used by Public Affairs Centre for “Public Affairs Index” included i) Essential Infrastructure ii) Support to Human order neurontin no prescription Development iii) Social protection iv) Women and Child v) Control of crime, law & order vi) Delivery of Justice vii) Environment viii) Transparency & Accountability ix) Fiscal management x) Economic freedom which were sub-categorised further into 68 smaller heads. The Public Affairs Index has been uploaded in the Internet website www.pai.pacindia.org.
The project has been undertaken under the guidance of retired IAS Officer and former Rajasthan Chief Secretary Dr. C.K. Mathew, Senior Fellow of PAC.
