Aizawl, Aug 16: The government of Mizoram is taking measure to introduce new syllabus for English medium and Mizo (Venacular) medium schools at middle level from the new academic session 2016 – 2017, State Education Minister H. Rohluna said at his Independence Day speech in Kolasib on Saturday.
The minister said that the government has introduced new syllabus at primary school (1-4 standards) from the current academic session and measures are underway to introduce new syllabus for middle schools from the new academic session. “Believing Education as the main source of development, the government is trying its level best to improve the system. After the introduction of new syllabus at primary level from this current academic session, the government is mulling over to introduce new syllabus at Middle school level from the new academic session 2016-2017. The new syllabus as designed is for both English medium and Mizo medium schools”, he said.
Citing that establishment of peace and tranquility is the priority of government, Rohluna said the state government is taking earnest effort to improve law and order situation in the state. He added that peace could be prevailed in the state due to collective effort made by NGOs, student bodies, Churches and government.
