Aizawl, Nov 8: Main opposition youth wing – Mizo National Youth Front (MNYF) on Saturday came heavily on former Health Minister and Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla’s younger brother, Lal Thanzara for allegedly telling lies and asked him to apologize for fooling Mizo people and state assembly assurance committee as a consequence of which 3 policemen have to lost their precious lives in a militant ambush near Zokhawthiang hamlet in Mizoram- Manipur border on 28 March.
Speaking to media in a press conference, MNYF Treasurer Lalrindika Chhangte said that 3 out 5 members of state assembly assurance committee headed by its chairman RL Pianmawia were on official tour to 7 villages in Tuivawl constituency in northern Mizoram to inspect Health Clinic Centre there after the constituency MLA RL Pianmawia declined the then Health Minister Lal Thanzara who informed the assembly and state assurance committee that Health Clinic Centre had already been established in the 7 villages.
He said that the convoy of assurance committee was being ambushed by HPC (D) militant while heading towards Zokhawthiang village after it had visited 3 villages leading to the death of 3 policemen. “The report of assurance committee and RTI from the Health Department showed that no other Health Clinic centre except the one in Chhanchhuahna Khawpui hamlet had been established in the villages against the report of the minister”, he said.
“The youth wing has strongly slammed Lal Thanzara for telling lie which apparently led to the ambush of MLA convoy and death of three policemen. We asked him to apologize for his lie and tell the whereabout of Rs 72 lakh being earmarked for the construction of Health sub centre for 6 villages”, Chhangte strongly appealed.
Chhangte said that the government has to spend huge amount of money for conduct of by-polls as necessitate by the resignation of Lal Thanzara.
