Aizawl, Aug 11: Chhiahtlang village, adopted by Rajya Sabha MP Ronald Sapa Tlau for Model Village under the central programme SAGY, is making commendable progress, official report today said.
The MP Model village Chhiahtlang has taken steps in different ways and has seen great progress accordingly, the official statement said and added that Charge Officer Rohnuni Colney today visited the Model Village and eye-witnessed the progress that has been made under the central government programme.
She also held interaction with the village leaders and discussed how to take further steps. The village leaders conveyed their thankfulness towards MP Ronald Sapa for adopting their village for Model Village.
They said that, although there is no separate fund for MP Model Village, they are determined to fulfill to their level best the different plans under SAGY programme. Among others, they emphasized cleanliness, the village leaders added.
The village has set up Animal Control Committee and Road Protection Committee and the two have taken steps accordingly.
From the fund received under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan/ Swachh Vidhyalaya 2015-2016 amounting to Rs. 2, 25,000/, good toilets have been constructed in 3 Schools, and Biometric enrolment special drive is also being done which has so far covered 84.73% (3478) of the villagers who are above 5 years.
