Aizawl, Aug 13: There is no discrepancy and nothing delayed on the part of Finance Department against the rumour that MR employees in some departments are not paid because of some discrepancies, Finance Minister Lalsawta told media today.
In the ongoing initiative of verifying the MR employess whether or not they are present in person, Planning Department has asked all the departments having Muster Roll (MR) employees to submit the name, address, and EPIC Xerox copy of the MR employee. The deadline for the same has been extended as some departments could not meet the set deadline, Lalsawta said.
Finance Department want to pay the MR employees who are really working and in possession of Epic, and there is no pending work on our side, the State Finance Minister said. The government is trying to further do things as righteously as possible, he added.
As per latest data, the total amount spent in a year on the salary of MR employees under Mizoram government comes to Rs. 59. 36 crores, Finance Minister told the media.
Getting salary without doing the work is malicious, we shall therefore continue to find out the truth, Finance Minister said. He further said that spending the major share of Budget for salary of the government employees is also what we don’t want.
“We are now working on to downsize MR employees with the commitment-‘Let’s start from the heads‘“, he said. KS Thanga,Parliamentary Secretary and Dr.C. Vanlalramsanga IES, Secretary, Finance were also present during the Finance Minister’s interaction with the media persons at the latter’s office chamber .
