Aizawl, Sept 24: Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) has felt the need to make amendment in the Mizo Tribe List of the Constitution of India and decided to take up the matter in its forthcoming General Conference next month.
MSU Executive Committee in its meeting yesterday has finalized the agenda for the MSU General Conference scheduled for 6th-8th October, 2015 in Darlawn village. The other agenda of MSU includes making the whole of Mizoram a tribal area under Sixth Schedule as before.
MSU would also decide on its action plan for better use of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by the companies working in Mizoram.
The other matters to be taken up by MSU in its General Conference include asking the state government to appoint a particular day when women may dress up in traditional clothing in all the Government Colleges; conducting a critical study on the condition of all the educational institutions under the Mizoram Government; organizing a ‘Career Guidance’ programme within 2015-2016 in all MSU Sub- Headquarters; and measures to help as many Mizo youth succeed in the exams conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
