Aizawl, Feb 5: The Mizo Students’ Union on Friday came up with a proposal to meet chief minister Lal Thanhawla over extension of service and re-employment under the state government.
In its executive meeting held today which was attended by sizeable number of student, the MSU deliberated over extension of service and re-employment of existing servants under the state government and expressed dislike against the system of extension of re-employment or service at the lost of present educated unemployed youths.
MSU general secretary Lalremruata Chhangte said that the student body in its executive meeting agreed to firstly meet the chief minister over the issue and then take measure as per necessity.
The executive meeting expressed happiness for the success of agitation launched recently against B. The student body appealed to the government to take concrete measure to resolve the problem of inadequacy towards allocation of teacher in different collages under the state government.
The meeting observed that there are as many 70 teacher posts being laid vacant at this juncture and the government must fill up some posts in order to meet the urgent needs of the students.
In collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI) the student body would host ‘Inter college quiz competition ‘ from 15 March. It also constituted a sub-committee to ensure one day mass wearing of Mizo shawl by girls in all colleges.
