Aizawl, Nov 17: As the countdown for the coming bypolls and election to AMC and LADC has begun with the announcement by state Election Commission in October last, all political parties are gearing up for political campaign assuring the people of fulfillment of their election agenda. The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and state BJP which agreed to fight as the constituent of Narendra Modi led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seems no less influential although it has been treated subordinate by others.
The NDA under which 28 parties are being combined in one force with BJP as the principal party would take mileage on providing free loans to the youths under the newly introduced Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme, Shri Pawan Sharma, a BJP leaders incharge of Mizoram who came to Aizawl on an official campaign said today.
Addressing the grand campaign here in Aizawl, Sharma said that the NDA, if voted to power, will take large scale initiatives to provide MUDRA loans in collaboration with commercial banks. Under MUDRA scheme banks will give loans ranging from Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 10, lakh to the youths having viable and feasible projects without guarantor. “The youths would now be enabled to start their beginning under MUDRA scheme as the central will finance and re-finance the loans without affecting state budget,” he added.
Hitting out at the ruling Congress, Sharma said it has been ruling the state (Mizoram) for around 20 years. “What did they (Congress) do for the poor and downtrodden mass during 20 years long rule,” he questioned.
“The NDA government has successfully provided rice at subsidized rate which the state Congress failed to do,” he said, adding that the NDA’s candidate for Aizawl North- III bypolls Lalduhoma if voted to power will predict the future of 2018 assembly election.
Sharma also promised that the NDA government will provide rice at the cost of Rs 1 per kilogram if it was voted to power in the next assembly election in 2018. “This facility would widely cover all the households without discrimination or partiality unlike the Congress do,” he said, adding Sharma added that DONER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will be visiting Mizoram very soon.
In another address, Aizawl North-III NDA Candidate Lalduhoma while expecting victory said a miracle is likely to happen in the coming bye-election. Alleging Congress of making a ploy to impact AMC polls by scheduling counting of votes for by-polls before the AMC election, Lalduhoma said the they (Congress) will likely be entangled in its own trap. He also urged party workers the propagandize the agenda of Aizawl as ‘city of church’ during election campaign.
