Aizawl, April 7: Acting Chairman of National Commission for Human Rights (NHRC) Cyriac Joseph today inaugurated 2-day national seminar on Human Rights at Mizoram University Auditorium, MZU Campus, Tanhril, on the outskirt of Aizawl. The national seminar is being organized jointly by NHRC and Mizoram University.
Dr. SK Shukla and Dr H. Elizabeth are the Coordinators of the National Seminar which has “Protection of Human Rights and Assuring the Unity and Integrity of the Nation” as its theme. MZU Vice Chancellor Prof. R.Lalthantluanga, Delhi a Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain IPS, from Delhi, Prof. Nand Kishore Acharya, from IIT Hyderabad and National Human Rights Commission Assistant Director Dr. S.K. Shukla also attended the first day of the seminar and addressed the gathering.
Chief Guest in the day Cyriac Joseph said in his speech that protection of human rights buy gabapentin 400 mg while upholding the diverse cultures, different languages, different religions of the people, is important for national integration.
He exhorted the students of Mizoram University to continue with the truism that Universities in different parts of the world are places where new thinking and imagination are expressed. He, in the meantime, asked the university students to not use their very freedom at the cost of national integration.
Two sessions were conducted in the seminar today in which Prof. Margaret Ch.Zama, MZU, Ms.Yeshasvini Ramaswamy, Bengaluru, Prof.Kanagaraj Easwaran, MZU, Mizoram DGP Thianghlima Pachuau, Dr.Capt G.Dhanan Jaya Rao, Military and Paramilitary Forces for United and Peaceful India, Lallianchhunga, MZU and Prof.C.Devendiran, MZU made speeches.
Member and acting Chairman of NHRC, Cyriac Joseph is a former Supreme Court of India Judge, and had served as Chief Justice in Karnataka and Uttarakhand High Courts.
