Aizawl, March 28: As many as 6,50,641 children were enrolled in various Angan-wadi centers in Mizoram in five years from 2011-15, Social Welfare Minister P.C. Lalthanliana told the state assembly today. There were 10,692 Angan-wadi centers in the whole of Mizoram and each CDPO conducts survey for selection of nutrition gabapentin buy usa beneficiaries, the report of which were submitted to the directorate where compilation was made and based on these project wise allotment were made, Lalthanliana said in a reply to a question from Lalruatkima of the Mizo National Front.
The minister said that feeding instruction was given to project office from the directorate as per which the respective project office made centre wise allotment.
According to him the daily ceiling for nutrition beneficiaries as per national norm are Rs 6 per day for normal child, Rs 9 per day for severely mal-nourished child and Rs 7 per day for pregnant women and tending mother.
The monthly quota of a child is assume at Rs 150.
The minister said measures were taken to ensure expired nutrition items are not distributed to centers and in case of such incident, items were returned and replaced by new one. He added that all Angan-wadi centers were directed to not distribute expired items.
