Aizawl, Aug 10: Parliamentary Secretary for Trade & Commerce, Industries etc. Joseph Lalhimpuia today inspected the site for reconstruction of Lunglei Super Market and other infrastructure sites in Lunglei, the second largest town in Mizoram.
The earlier plan for reconstruction of Lunglei Super Market in which Rs. 10 Crore was finalized to be sanctioned from 14th Finance Commission but it did not go smooth due to change of Ministry at the Centre. But, with the initiative of Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, Rs. 20 Crore is now expected from NLCPR, Parliamentary Secretary Joseph Lalhimpuia said, adding that inspection is being done for preparation of DPR which is mandatory.
Parliamentary Secretary also on the same day inspected the ongoing construction of Chanmari Indoor Stadium which will cost Rs. 4, 60, 09,244. He found that 30% of the work has been completed now. The Indoor Stadium will have one Basket Ball Court, 3 Badminton Courts, and, under it, a School, Dining Hall and Motor Parking.
The Parliamentary Secretary also inspected the plan for widening and renovation of Indoor Stadium approach road and also inspected the site for construction of Weaving Centre, for which Rs.3 Crore is estimated.
Parliamentary Secretary was accompanied by Trade & Commerce Jt. Director HD Lalrintluanga and DIC General Manager Lalrodingi, SE PWD Bowman, EE PWD Maipa and associated department officials during his inspection visits.
