Aizawl, Feb 19: Pensioner’s Database Management System (PDMS) has been launched in the State today with Finance Minister Lalsawta inaugurating the same here at Accounts & Treasuries Conference Hall.
PDMS will enable more convenient, fair, and speedy service to pensioners and with less requirement of manpower, Finance Minister, the Chief Guest on the occasion said. He added that under PDMS there will no more stack of thousands of heavy old files.
After inaugurating the new system, the Chief Guest handed over Pension Payment Orders to selected 5 pensioners.
Finance Commissioner L.N. Tochhawngin presided over the PDMS launching programme while Chief Controller of Accounts, Accounts & Treasuries, R. Lalbiakthanga gave report on the initiative of PDMS, which has been made using the fund provided by 13th Finance Commission and Kolkata-based M/S Spectra Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. and pension dealing officer and staff of Accounts & Treasuries Department worked together for it.
As reported in the day, Pension file digitization is being carried out and so far 4173 Pension files have been digitized. Also, all pension cases from August 25, 2015 onwards have been settled under PDMS and so far 323 cases have been settled.
Besides pension management, PDMS hi pension is said to be usable for pay, leave and related works. Mobile SMS alert shall also be given to pensioners. Moreover, it will enhance inadequacy of staff and help reduce expenses on Stationery and in the event of Pay Revision too, adjustment can be easily made with PDMS much to the benefit of pensioners and would-be pensioners.
