Aizawl, Dec 17: Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei, has today notified the prohibition on sale of petrol, diesel etc. without permit as a measure of fire prevention. The DC alerted the people of the onset of dry season during which fire incident easily occurs and called for carefulness on the part of every individual.
The DC said that selling of petrol, diesel, etc. without permit is included among the causes of fire incident and hence prohibition of the same is a must for the safety of the people. The DC referred to the order issued by Rothuama, MCS Addl. District Magistrate, Lunglei District, Lunglei in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 144 Cr.PC, 1973 (Act II of 1973).
The order said that no one is allowed to sell petrol, diesel etc. without permit within Lunglei District and violator of the order is punishable under Section-188 IPC.
The order has come into effect from 16/12/2015 (Wednesday) and shall be effective for 2 months unless shortened or extended.
Serchhip District DC Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, District Magistrate has also issued the same order today.
