Aizawl, Sept 9: As part of its initiatives under Village Development Plan, Khawlailung village, the Model Village adopted by Lok Sabha MP CL Ruala under Sansaad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), is organizing a 2-day Training on the use of Powerpoint for Primary and Middle School teachers. The training began from today at DIET Computer Centre, Serchhip.
Teresy Vanlalhruaii, MCS, DRDA Project Director and the Charge Officer of the MP Model Village graced the training inauguration function and oriented the teachers on the objectives of SAGY and asked them to have clear knowledge of the Central programme
She reminded the teachers of their crucial responsibility of shaping the students for good citizens. She also asked the teachers to create a congenial atmosphere for the students so that the students may love to go to school.
Teachers of Private Schools though paid lesser are but doing better than Government school teachers who are paid better should not be the way, Teresy said, asking the teachers to introspect over this. Beyond teaching the students to pass exams, it is necessary to help them gain knowledge and wisdom for success in life, she told the teachers.
Andrew H Lalremruata, DIPRO, who also spoke on the occasion, asked the teachers to have a thorough knowledge of SAGY as they are most consulted by the villagers.
He also asked them to explain before the villagers regarding the process of execution of Village Development Plans which, he says, involves filtering at the higher level, so that the unnecessary blame on the MP, Officials or Village leaders may be avoided.
SAGY, the primary objective of which is to make the people good citizens, reliable, physically and mentally sound, can be carried out even without fund, he said.
He also called on the teachers to help the students develop the attitude of making progress and advancement.
Lalrammawia, Principal, DIET, Serchhip, who presided over the training inauguration, said that the same kind of training will also be organised at Chhiahtlang village, the Model Village adopted by Rajya Sabha MP, Ronald Sapa. Further, initiatives will be taken under Computer Literacy Mission, he added.
R. Lalrinawma, Lecturer, DIET gave instruction to the selected 20 Primary School and Middle School teachers on the first day of the training today.
