Aizawl, March 18: Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation Department (UD&PA) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) today in the office chamber of UD&PA Minister Zodintluanga here in Aizawl.
As per the MoA, IOCL will put up dustbins in different places within Aizawl city for public use.
On behalf of UD&PA, Secretary Dr. C Vanlalramsanga and Director Zorammuana, and on behalf of IOCL, Indian Oil AOD, Chief HR Manager in Guwahati, P.K. Ray and Sr. Corporate Communication Manager of IOCL Corporate Office, New Delhi L.L. Khongsai signed the MoA.
Expressing happiness over the agreement with IOCL, UD&PA Minister Zodintluanga said that it is planned to make Mizoram the cleanest State in India.
The Minister thanked UD&PA leaders and IOCL leaders for their initiative of putting up dustbins in several places of Aizawl city and, in the meantime, invited the people to cooperate and make use of the same. The Minister shared with the leaders of IOCL the ongoing initiatives of waste disposal and management in Aizawl city and expressed his wish that the joint venture this time may be the beginning and invited the latter to help take steps on other needs of Mizoram like renovation of hospitals and educational institutions.
The MoA signing was chaired by UD&PA Secretary Dr. C Vanlalramsanga who said thanked IOCL leaders for their interest in the initiatives and proposals of UD&PA and for their readiness to continue with their help. Chief HR Manager of Indian Oil AOD, Guwahati P.K. Ray briefed on the functioning and system of the Corporation, mentioning that they utilize 2% of their annual profit for public welfare as per Companies Act, and that they emphasize on health and cleanliness, clean drinking water, education, generating employment for the youth, cooperating with the government in tackling climate change impact. The IOCL leader added that he would love to have joint venture for the progress of the rural villages of Mizoram.
Sr. Corporate Communication Manager of IOCL Corporate Office, New Delhi L.L. Khongsai lauded UD&PA for their dedication and also appreciated the good governance of the Mizoram government.
UD&PA Department Joint Secretary Vanlalmawia and Joint Director James Lalnunmawia and Senior Manager at Mualkhang IOCL LPG Bottling Plan Lalngaisang Khozol were also present during the signing of MoA.
