Aizawl, Nov 8: Two YMA branches in Aizawl- Upper Republic and Durtlang North have simultaneously bagged the winner of Mizo Indigenous Games Festival with scoring 72 points each in seven events of the games.
Held during 5-7 November at Aizawl’s Bawngkawn Brigade Field, the Indigenous Games Festival was successfully concluded last Saturday. About 37 YMA branches in the state capital took part in the game festival which was the first of its kind organized jointly by DDK and Mizoram State Sports Council to promote DD Sports channel by airing indigenous or traditional games at public view.
The closing ceremony of the 3 Mizo Indigenous games festivals was graced by Mizoram Director General of Police Thianghlima Pachuau in which various popular Mizo folk singers and rockers showcased their enthralling performance.
In overall competition, Upper Republic and Durtlang ‘N’ bagged the winner with 72 points each while Chaltlang and Sakawrtuichhun won the runner up with – 47 points each.
